Simply put- Photography is a gift. It is an art form that offers each of us the ability to show the world through our own eyes- you don’t have to walk a mile in my shoes because I’m showing you what is on the other side. In the words of a famous photographer…
“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”Ansel Adams
So, why start a photography blog?
Why? Why is a kid from Albuquerque, New Mexico starting a blog about photography? Well, there are plenty of reasons that I feel the need to start a photography blog. But, in hopes to not bore you, I’ll skip over the WHY and talk about the WHAT.
So, what topics will be covered in these blogs? Simply put- everything that relates to photography. Some posts will be about local spots in Albuquerque to shoot. Some posts will be about the meaning of photography. Others will be tutorials discussing how to get into photography. But for now let’s just stick with a nice and easy “welcome” page.
Who would I love to connect with via my blogs?
To make this as simple as I can- musicians. I would love to get to know different musical artists and collaborate with them any way I can.
Music has always been a large part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love every aspect of music from listening to it- to making music in my bedroom- to attending concerts- to even learning the marketing behind big-name artists. That last one may have something to do with my somewhat passion for marketing. Half of the time my friends and family see me, I am blasting music pretty loud.
What do I hope to accomplish by blogging?
In one year, as I look back at this blog, I hope for a few things to be true…
- I have grown my photography following
- I continue to grow my portfolio adventuring into new forms of photography. Maybe start venturing into concert shoots/vids?
- Meet more people around the nation with the same passion in photography as me.
Thanks for reading this first post of mine!
